Twenty Nineteen – a year in pictures by Sarah Williams Photography

I cannot believe we have reached the middle of January already and I have at last had some time to look back on the most wonderful 2019. It was a busy year for both my weddings and cricket work and Alex and I were a part of 22 wedding days, drove over 9000 miles and travelled all the way from Battle to Edinburgh to capture my couples special days. A trip to Edinburgh was particularly enjoyable as my family are there so we were able to catch up at the same time. The road trip we made up and back was pretty fun too!

This year, I have delivered over 20,000 photos to my couples and taken so many more. I got to photograph weddings at new places, as well as old favourites too. Castles were most definitely a theme this year and I got to photograph weddings at Leeds Castle in Kent, Southsea Castle and Old Wardour Castle in Wiltshire, each such beautiful locations for weddings. I got to go back to the wonderful Upwaltham Barns and have five lovely weddings there to look forward to in 2020.

The weather was certainly interesting in 2019 and some of my couples did experience rain on their wedding day, but none more so that Vanessa and Mark! They were married at the stunning Kingdom in Penshurst and had the most challenging conditions on their day, but actually gave me some of my most favourite photos from this year. I was back at Lord’s Cricket Ground for a wedding and also got to capture a lot of church weddings in 2019 too – something I always love and enjoy. I had two weddings at the lovely Pilgrims Rest in Battle and my wedding season begins there again next month!

2019 was actually a quieter year for me as I had to accommodate the biggest cricket season I have ever been a part of! I will be writing a separate blog soon about my year at Lord’s again soon but being able to photograph a World Cup Final in your home country and to see England win was a pretty special moment.

As always, I really am so grateful for all the couples who put their trust in me to capture their day and allow me to create so many wonderful memories too. I must also thank all the wonderful caterers, make up artists and hair stylists, florists, drivers, videographers, cake makers and all the venues we worked with in 2019, who helped make my couples’ day so special.

This year we get to capture weddings at some of my favourite places once again but also some more new venues too, and we will be making trips to The Lake District, The Wirral and Warwick to name but a few.

It was so hard choosing what photos to feature in my round up (and I have managed to choose more than last year too!)  Every wedding I captured is featured and I just want to thank each of my couples for letting myself and Alex be a part of your day and it really has been such a special year.

Alex gets a particular thank you this year as he has started to second shoot for me (and is the main reason my couples’ galleries are getting bigger too!). We are the best team and are very much looking forward to a busy year ahead.

Although I am pretty much fully booked for this year, my diary is open for 2021 and 2022 weddings and I already have some lovely weddings in those years to look forward to. Pease do get in touch if you would like to find out more about me and my photography and I can send you over a brochure.

So here is just a little look back at my 2019 year of weddings and I hope you enjoy (you can view a slideshow first or scroll through all the images below this).
